Somali gov’t condemns killing of Mogadishu airport officials
Somalia’s deputy Prime Minister Mohamed Omar Arte has strongly condemned the killing of four Mogadishu airport officials who were killed in a drive-by shooting attack in the center of Mogadishu on Monday.
Arte sent his condolences to the families, friends and Mogadishu airport workers on the loss of the men.
Among the murdered men was Mohamed Kadiye Jimale who was the airport’s deputy director.
The deputy prime minister directed all security agencies to scale up their effort in bolstering the security of the city and foiling Al-Shabaab’s attacks in the capital.
He added that such acts won’t derail the government’s efforts of eradicating the terrorist group from the country.
The Al-Shabaab militant group said it was behind the attack on the airport workers, and vowed that it will step up killing government officials and workers.
